🌟 Happy 15th Birthday to Indraloka Animal Sanctuary!!
I was contacted by a volunteer from Indraloka, a Farm Animal Sanctuary in Pennsylvania, in 2017, as someone had seen my artwork and thought it would be a great addition to their ThanksLiving event raffle. We began to speak about doing some collaborative pieces and thus began a series of portraits of some of their beautiful rescues.
I created Jeremiah the pig first.
I painted him in Procreate and then finished the piece with various textures and colorful layers in Photoshop. Using similar techniques, I then painted Pencil the chicken.
The last portrait I created was very special as it was a memorial portrait of a very sweet goat who had passed away named Maddie. I had two visions of her - one in a beautiful land of rainbows and the other in a peaceful night sky. We decided to keep both options.
As I released each print for sale I would share their rescue story. A portion of every sale was donated to Indraloka Animal Sanctuary. In addition to art prints, I eventually began to offer these pieces on ornaments and wood blocks. A set of 3 wood blocks with each rescue was auctioned at their 2018 ThanksLiving Celebration.
This collaboration is very special to me and I hope to do more sanctuary portraits in the future.
