About the Artwork

I created this piece on a day when I was feeling extremely anxious. My sister suggested I try and think of things I like such as kitties and Hawaii. So... I made this little sketch of 4 kitties on a beach in Hawaii and while I did that some of my symptoms subsided. Making the drawing helped my mind stop running and focus calmly on something else.

It started out as a day scene but as I progressed and as I often do, I let the picture take me where it wanted to go, and it became a night scene. Perhaps b/c by the time I was nearly done it was 1:30am ;p. I imagine it's a beautiful, peaceful night and this family of 4, like the Rotman 4 🙏, are in bliss just enjoying each other and the wonders of the world. This piece is also inspired by my dad who I miss greatly and who also loved cats and Hawaii.
